 This is an evening of hypnotic music and graceful dancing, performed by artists from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars as well as international ballroom and Latin dancechampions. Brilliant choreography is infused with a variety of dance genres. In this day of television’s popular dance competitions, the next Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers can be discovered in elite dance competitions for ballroom dancing. In this production many of the company’s dancers are world-class professional champions.

Every two weeks, one of the world’s 7,000 spoken languages is lost to colonialiand globalization. David Harrison and Gregory Anderson, two young linguists, who speak 25 languages between them, want to change that. These professors travel to Siberia, Bolivia and India to rescue dying tongues. Director Jeremy Newberger will speak about the making of the film.

Based on Marjane Satrapi’s much admired graphic novel, Persepolis recounts her story of growing up in 1970’s Iran. Political realities like the Shah’s repressive regime, the Islamic revolution, and the rise of a fundamentalist theocracy are seen from a very personal perspective using the creative arts of hand-drawn animation to capture a child’s experience of a complex world.

The Panacea is about the things we do in the pursuit of happiness and the importance of self-acceptance. It tells the story of one man’s futile struggle against his authentic self. In the play, a gay man pursues a
relationship with an overbearing psychiatrist who specializes in what she calls “conversion therapy.” The Panacea was a finalist for the First Annual Thomas Barbour memorial Playwright’s Award in 2007.

Cynthia Robinson is a NYC playwright and professor
of English at Westchester Community College. Her play, Ascension, (Independent Reviewer of New England, Best New Play nomination/Tribeca All Access Open Stage Award), was produced at The Cherry Lane Theater as part of the 2008 New York international Fringe Festival.

Brian Centrone is a short story writer whose work has appeared in anthologies. He received his M.A. in Novel Writing from the University of Manchester
(UK). His most recent work, a one-act play inspired by Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence, was selected to be part of The Big Read events in Massillon, Ohio and was acclaimed as the smash hit. Centrone is currently completing his first novel, Confessions of an Ordinary Boy.
