Event Description
The Panacea is about the things we do in the pursuit of happiness and the importance of self-acceptance. It tells the story of one man’s futile struggle against his authentic self. In the play, a gay man pursues a
relationship with an overbearing psychiatrist who specializes in what she calls “conversion therapy.” The Panacea was a finalist for the First Annual Thomas Barbour memorial Playwright’s Award in 2007.

Cynthia Robinson is a NYC playwright and professor
of English at Westchester Community College. Her play, Ascension, (Independent Reviewer of New England, Best New Play nomination/Tribeca All Access Open Stage Award), was produced at The Cherry Lane Theater as part of the 2008 New York international Fringe Festival.
